The Estee Lauder Companies Visual Merchandising & Store Design Manager in Paris, France

Visual Merchandising & Store Design Manager

Creative missions:

  • Highly creative skills & work experience at Store Design / POSM Design and launch Visual Merchandizing field

  • Design and create floor plans, elevations, schematics, details, sketches and 3D modeling necessary to communicate design vision in partnership with team collaborators, agencies and internal departments

  • Adaptation of SD/VM concepts across channels of distribution ( FSS, DS, Pharma, Specialti-Multi, Pop-ups, etc… )

  • Drive from design brief and inspiration to design drawings, from prototyping & test stores to concept & design guidelines, in collaboration with both creative team and marketing team as well as external architects and suppliers

  • Design planograms and planograms evolution during the year based on Marketing programs

  • Create aesthetically optimized visual merchandising schemes for window vitrines and in-store vitrines, for the presentation of existing products and new product launches

  • Drive high visual merchandising standards across the retail locations with creation of clear guidelines and communication for each launch program

  • Present designs to the Creative Director weekly for approval

  • Creativity and open-mindedness to Beauty, Architecture, Design, Contemporary Art world

  • Drive innovation at store level, build in store brand consistency worldwid

  • Apply & Adapt Global Store Design & VM Concepts guidelines to regional projects & constraints within timing and quality

  • Produces concept sketches, presentation drawings, technical drawings, specification and artwork layouts as required to communicate design intent.

Strategic thinking:

  • Align concept development with functional and business needs.

  • Support Trade Marketing needs for priority markets ( outposts, podiums, pop-up formats, etc… )

  • Lead the visual customer experience in store ensuring all customer needs are met within the displays, for example, to effectively display pricing, communicate the brand stories, hero franchises and any other important messaging

  • Identify consumer trends, maintain knowledge and execution of industry best practices for retail marketing as well as performing ongoing benchmarking of the competitive landscape to ensure the brand is on the forefront of in-store storytelling

  • Partner with consumer insights to conduct regular environmental analysis, including assessment of competitors and industry/consumer trends to build and make informed strategies

  • Drive and execute compelling storytelling at store level through close collaboration with creative director, digital and marketing teams.

  • Work closely with Consumer Engagement to create and activate events and experiences in store that have global reach.

  • Partner with Consumer Engagement team to analyze and develop strategies for Influencer and Consumer Animation and Events to build brand equity, consumer retention, conversion and revenue.

  • Partner with Regions to analyze and develop strategies for Influencer and Consumer Animation and Events to build brand equity, consumer retention, conversion and revenue.

  • Identify, maintain and manage strong relationships with China team in the delivery of event ideation and in-store production services.

Organizational activities:

  • Lead the creation of briefs for the design and sourcing of new props/POS, proposing creative solutions for the display of new collections

  • Elaborate budget guidelines with Finance team for markets to plan for right level of Capex and Opex to accompany the in-store brand transformation

  • Proactively engage with and support the regional retail teams to ensure visual merchandising standards and best practices are shared and consistently maintained across the store network

  • 10 years of experience in Beauty Store Design and VM. Skincare experience is a plus.

  • Be a dedicated “Brand Ambassador” and protect Brand Equity

  • PC/MAC software: Adobe suite, 3DS Max, Skechup…

  • Strong knowledge of the regional and local Points of Sales specificities (FSS, Department stores, Perfumeries)

  • Radiant positive, exuberant enthusiasm, genuine energy, passionate and engage

  • Proactive, organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple tasks and varied personalities

  • Decision-making and self-reliance

  • Great communication skills and summarization capabilities
