About Global Public Affairs
The Global Public Affairs function enables The Estée LauderCompanies to understand, anticipate, and manage the global politicalenvironment in which it does business. In partnership with internal colleaguesand consultants, the Global Public Affairs team works to build relationshipswith key external stakeholders (i.e., governments, regulators, NGO’s, communitiesand trade associations), and develop strategies to leverage businessopportunities, mitigate risk, and advance the interests of the company. TheGlobal Public Affairs team is committed to ensuring that ELC maintains itsposition as the leader in prestige beauty.
The Manager, Global Public Affairs, will support the VicePresident, Global Public Affairs EMEA to develop and execute the Public Affairsstrategy to further advance The Estée Lauder Companies position and businessinterests in the region. This role will support internal and externaldecision-makers’ understanding, appreciation and consideration of relevantinsights in the development of public policy, corporate policy and businessstrategies.The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurialself-starter who can lead initiatives with both substance expertise and projectmanagement skills.This role requires understandingof the political, social, and economic landscape of the region and a solidknowledge of the European Union and its institutional framework.
Monitorpolicy trends and developments in the region that are relevant to The EstéeLauder Companies’ business priorities and operations.
RepresentThe Estée Lauder Companies with institutional and other external stakeholders.
Contributeto industry discussions and positions in trade associations in which The EstéeLauder Companies is involved (e.g. Cosmetics Europe, AIM and AMCHAM EU).
Analyzeand assess potential implications of upcoming legislation or policy to identifyrisks and opportunities to inform the company’s position and actions.
Ensurethat the Senior Management and other departments or functions are well-informedand have a thorough understanding of the impact of relevant policy actions anddecisions.
Provide subject matter expertise to internalcolleagues in legal, regulatory, communications, citizenship &sustainability, supply chain and R&D.
Coordinate meetings and forums in support ofthe company’s Public Affairs agenda.
Manage consultant relationships to ensuredeliverables are effectively met within agreed upon timeframe and budget.
5 years of relevant experience working with the European Institutions, including the European Parliament.
Masters’ degree in European Affairs, European Law, Political Science or related field required.
Fluent in both written and conversational English required; fluency in a second European language is an advantage.
Highly analytical, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions.
Strong communicator with the ability to effectively convey technical information.
Strategic, independent, self-starter and a team player attitude.
Strong organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Strong track record in managing multiple processes and projects through collaborative relationships.
